Vastex Intl. Inc., Allentown, Pa., recently announced that the 2013 models of its Econo Red I conveyer dryers feature higher-wattage heaters, longer warranties, and improved exhaust systems and digital readouts.
The EconoRed I 30 model with 30-inch belt width has a new 4,300-watt heater (up from 3,500 watts) capable of curing 190-plus pieces per hour per, chamber. The EconoRed I 54, with a 54-inch belt width, has two new 4,300-watt heaters for a total of 8,600 watts (up from 7,000 watts) capable of curing 380-plus pieces per hour, per chamber.
In addition to higher wattages, the heaters feature closely spaced coils that provide high-density, medium-wavelength infrared heat for maximum cure speed without the cold spots or under-curing that are associated with conventional units, according to the company. The heaters also carry a new 15-year warranty.
Additional new features include: an exhaust system that cools the outer cabinet while evacuating moisture and fumes; a digital readout that displays DC volts, allowing the operator to accurately repeat or fine-tune drying results at any time; and a belt-tracking system designed to increase belt life.
