Published: October 5, 2018

Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA)Fairfax, Va., unveiled the design of its 2018 SGIA Expo T-shirt, designed for the second straight year by Graphic Elephants.

The shirts will sell for $5 at the Expo, to be heldOct. 18-20 in Las Vegas, and all proceeds will support the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

“It is an honor to be asked to produce the art and shirts for the Expo,” says Lon Winters, president of Graphic Elephants. “We always try to put together something that matches the show’s theme while displaying high-level printing applications.”

This year’s T-shirt design captures the Las Vegas cityscape and what it adds to the show, celebrating the SGIA Expo with a look ahead to PRINTING United, according to the association. Launching in October 2019, PRINTING United is a new trade show from SGIA and NAPCO Media focused on the opportunities that industry convergence presents.

The new T-shirt design also features the bright lights of some of the most popular spots on the Vegas strip, such as TAO nightclub, where the show’s opening-night party will be held. Within the design, U.S. Route 66 connects Las Vegas to Dallas, while a PRINTING United sign teases what’s ahead for SGIA and the printing industry.

“The SGIA staff asked us to tell a story with our design, so we portrayed the transition of the SGIA Expo in Las Vegas to PRINTING United in Dallas, and what better way to connect the two cities than the iconic Route 66,” Winters says. — D.S.
