International Coatings, Cerritos, Calif., showcased new display samples featuring the iconic rock-poster art of David Edward Byrd at the recent Imprinted Sportswear Shows (ISS) event in Long Beach, Calif., held this past Jan. 18-19.
Byrd and his partner, Jolino Beserra, a well-known mosaic artist, participated in a meet and greet at the show and a charity drive featuring shirts printed with one of Byrd’s original designs. The artists also suggested that proceeds be donated to two pet-rescue organizations that they have long admired and supported: Flying Fur and Pet Finder.
For the charity drive, Byrd specifically created a limited-edition Animal Rescue design to be printed on T-shirts, which then were made available during the show against a donation toward the two animal-rescue charities. International Coatings provided the inks and printed some of the shirts prior to the event. Cotton Heritage also donated 500 of their premium ring-spun cotton shirts, while Anatol Equipment printed the remainder of the shirts during the show.
A total of $1,250 in donations was collected and sent to the two charities.
Byrd and Beserra have decided to create a page on their web store for the continuing sale of custom animal-rescue T-shirts and signed posters. — D.S
