Cotton Promo, Los Angeles, has developed a newly patented process that produces high-definition images with long-lasting vibrancy on 100% cotton fabrics, including black.
The new process features a patented coating that is first applied onto the garment, which then allows the sublimation dyes to adhere when heat-pressed. With the technology, the sublimation process can now be used on black garments at comparable or lower costs than direct-to-garment (DTG) printing.
Cotton Promo’s treated tees have undergone vigorous wash and environmental exposure tests and have held its original quality, and the water-based dyes used in the process, also have passed Intertek’s health and environmental tests, according to the company. — D.S.
