Grand Rapids, Michigan — The screen-printing T-shirt and apparel decorator Transfigure has announced the grand opening of its first brick-and-mortar location, bringing LGBTQIA+ inclusive prints, apparel, and more to Grand Rapids’ Creston Neighborhood.
After years of operating solely as an ecommerce site and custom screen-printing shop, Transfigure is expanding to in-person shopping. The new store will be featuring their own goods as well as various items from 50-plus other makers, the majority identifying as LGBTQIA+. Opening their doors to the public on the first day of Pride month, June 1, the celebration will be from 11am-6pm, featuring dairy/gluten free goods by Rise Authentic Baking Co.
Safe Space for the LGBTQIA+ Community
Transfigure is dedicated to providing a safe space for local Queer and Trans folks through providing inclusive goods, monthly artist pop ups, and other fundraising opportunities, both online and in-person. The Transfigure team is eager to meet so many community members that have been supporting them since their first pop up in 2019.
“We are so excited to expand our presence in Grand Rapids and offer the opportunity for members of the community to shop and interact with us in person,” said Bailey Sell, owner and founder of Transfigure. “This new shop represents everything I envisioned Transfigure to be, a safe space for Queer and Trans folks to be themselves, while seeing other people like them, that are making meaningful art for all of us.”
Opening in time for Pride Month
