IRVINE, Calif. — Roland DG is expanding its connected print ecosystem with new enhancements to Connect Designer and the introduction of ColorMatch within VersaWorks 7, aimed at simplifying design-to-production workflows and improving color consistency for print providers.
The updates reflect the company’s continued focus on reducing complexity across the print production process while enabling faster turnaround times, improved accuracy and greater scalability.
Streamlining the Design-to-Production Workflow
Roland DG Connect Designer serves as a cloud-based workspace that allows users to move quickly from concept to production-ready files. The platform integrates design, layout creation and file preparation into a single environment, reducing the need for multiple software tools.
The latest expansion introduces an Object Decoration Module, designed to support direct-to-object printing applications by simplifying artwork placement and reducing trial-and-error during setup. Enhancements to the Visual Communication Module further expand creative possibilities across signage, graphics and customized products.
An AI image generation add-on is also available, enabling users to create design assets within the same workspace.
ColorMatch Brings Consistent Color Control to VersaWorks 7
Roland DG has also enhanced its flagship RIP software, VersaWorks 7, with the introduction of ColorMatch, a new feature set designed to deliver consistent, reproducible color across devices and media.
ColorMatch simplifies color matching across:
- Multiple devices of the same model
- Aging equipment
- Different Roland DG devices
- Third-party printing systems
The feature also includes built-in media profile creation directly within the RIP, helping users maintain color accuracy without requiring advanced expertise.
Additional updates to VersaWorks 7 include object-level color control, enhanced variable data printing and improved bleed and overlap settings, further reducing setup time and increasing production efficiency.
A More Connected Print Ecosystem
Together, Connect Designer and VersaWorks 7 are designed to function as a unified, end-to-end workflow from design and preparation to output and repeatability. By aligning software with hardware, Roland DG aims to deliver predictable results while supporting scalable, on-demand production environments.
“With these updates, we are strengthening the role of software at the heart of the Roland DG experience,” said Ryugo Nimura, executive officer, Global Sales and Marketing Division, Roland DG.
