The Embellished Activewear Standards Initiative (EASI), Las Vegas, held its annual meeting April 16-17 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.
More than 30 members attended the event, which included technical and steering committee meetings, audit committee reports, nominations and elections of officers for the upcoming year, as well as a tour of Zappos’ headquarters. A major topic at the meeting was developing new XML standards to create consistency throughout the industry.
The group aims to standardize the transmission of information and data between suppliers and distributors, allowing companies to “electronically talk” about important information such as inventory, billing and shipping policies. While suppliers and distributors traditionally use EASI’s standards, the guidelines also are useful to decorators, who could use the processes to streamline and simplify their business with wholesalers.
