Lynka, Cracow, Poland, received three awards during the 35th Annual Impressions Awards, the industry’s most prestigious apparel decorating contest.
The 2013 competition was judged at the Fort Worth Imprinted Sportswear Show (ISS) [link], which was held Sept. 26-28 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
The company’s “Elephant Comes Alive” graphic received first-place honors in the Outstanding Design: A Screen Print Artist Award category and second-place honors in the Simulated Process Color Screen Printing category. Its “The Berlin Reichstag Dome” design took first-place honors in the Special Effects Textile Printing category
Darek Suchocki, an artist who has worked with Lynka for more than 15 years, created the “Elephant Comes Alive” graphic, which was created using eco-friendly inks. “I wanted to show the elephant as an animal extremely resistant to harsh environmental conditions, hence the thick skin and dry, cracked earth in the background,” says Suchocki.
Lynka used a silver shimmer and pearl base for “The Berlin Reichstag Dome.”
