Shirt Lab Sells Out First Sales and Marketing Event

Published: October 10, 2018

Shirt Lab, Dubuque, Iowa, has sold out of seats for its first sales and marketing education event, to be held Oct. 27 in Columbus, Ohio.

“The response has been phenomenal,” says Shirt Lab co-founder Tom Rauen. “Around the Ohio Valley area, a good number of shops are attending, but what’s interesting is that people are flying in from all over the United States. We have attendees from California, Texas, Maryland and Massachusetts, too.”

The workshop-style event’s speaker lineup consists of experts such as Jay Busselle, Dan Carr, Roger Burnett, Ken Seidl, Ryan Moor, Bill Petrie and Chris Bernat.

“What resonates with shop owners is the drive to get better,” says Shirt Lab co-founder Marshall Atkinson. “The sales market has shifted, and I think shop owners are scrambling to understand the new dynamics. What we are teaching with Shirt Lab are new best practices and strategies that will push these shops to succeed.”

New events will be held in different cities around the country during the next year. Per every business quarter, one will be added.  An event in the first quarter of 2019 will be held in Atlanta, with another event scheduled for Portland, Ore., in the second quarter. Dates and cities for the third and fourth quarters of 2019 have not been selected.

Atkinson and Rauen also started a new podcast called the “Shirt Lab Answer Series,” featuring listener-submitted questions that mirror their top sales and marketing challenges, backing up the Shirt Lab events. Podcast guests answer two questions per episode, with each one lasting about 10-15 minutes.
