Transfer Express, Mentor, Ohio, has been presented with a 2018 Safety Recognition Program award from the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), Fairfax, Va., for its yearlong efforts toward providing a safe workplace.
In addition to surpassing the program’s minimum requirements in a range of specified areas, Transfer Express earned particular notice for its monthly safety-committee meetings, according to the association. The company was one of 18 winners out of 60 nominated companies, and received a plaque and recognition on the SGIA website.
SGIA’s Safety Recognition Program instructs members about implementing and tracking safety and health issues in their facilities. The program also assists companies in identifying their OSHA-compliance obligations, and it encourages participants’ awareness of safety concerns by awarding points for creating an emergency plan, holding employee-safety training sessions, posting SGIA safety tips and conducting workplace inspections. — D.S.
